Teen Sewing and Fashion Camp for Summer 2013

Students will spend the week delving into the exciting world of Fashion and design. Students will spend the week sewing a garment as well as exploring different aspects of the fashion industry. In addition to sewing we will investigate color, make inspiration boards and watch fashion films. Join us for a week of Fashion Fun with your friends.

Fashion Sewing Summer Camp Alameda - Ages 8 and up - at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda

Learn to sew, draw, and express yourself through fashion! Join us for a week or two of fashion fun. Each child will complete a garment and model it on the runway at the end of the week. We explore different aspects of the design process throughout the week.

The Sewing Salon - A Fashion Camp for Kids Held at The Sewing Workshop in San Francisco - Ages 8 & up

Learn to sew, draw, and express yourself through fashion! Each child will complete a garment and model it in a fashion show at the end of the week. Your child will explore different aspects of the design process throughout the camp. Jennifer has worked in the fashion world for many years - as a pattern maker for Gap and Banana Republic and also as the head designer of her own pattern collection, Bonjour Teaspoon, in addition to running her successful summer sewing camp program. Jennifer and her team will make this a week your young designer will never forget!

Exploring Fashion - Fashion Camp for Summer 2013

Students will spend the week delving into the exciting world of Fashion and design. In this field trip based camp, students will visit the workshops of local fashion designers and other fashion professionals in San Francisco and the East Bay as well as go shopping for design inspiration. We will investigate color theory, make inspiration boards and watch fashion films. Join us for an insider view to the fashion industry.

Students are guided through a project of their choice. Instruction is customized to each student's skill level.

Open Level Sewing - Students are guided through a project of their choice. Instruction is customized to each student's skill level.

Sewing Jam

A community sewing event for adults the 2nd Wednesday evening of every month. Desiree Salas and I are on hand to help you with your projects. Bring a dish to share, have a glass of wine and sew with us.

Sewing With Recycled Sweaters

Learn to sew with felted recycled Sweaters. When wool sweaters are washed, with heavy agitation, the fibers mold to each other and become “felted”. This creates a unique and lovely textile that is easy to work with and does not fray. In this class, students can choose to work on either an appliquéd pillow cover or an appliquéd scarf made from recycled sweater materials. Each student will come away with a unique, finished project that is both cozy and eye catching.

Students learn:
Basic stitching and cutting of materials
Invisible zipper insertion or buttonhole envelope finish
Applique techniques

Fee: $40 + $20 materials fee (includes pillow insert, zipper, buttons, felted sweaters). Class Located at Redux - 2315 Lincoln Avenue in Alameda, between Park and Oak Streets.

Winter Sewing Camp

Students work on a project of their choice while I guide them through the process.
$80/day or $150 and a free pattern! for all three days.
